This juvenile male bald eagle was rescued by the Iowa DNR conservation officer who met up with Cassie for transport to SOAR. This youngster has a fractured right tibio-tarsus. He was very lethargic and 7.5 pounds on admit. Better news is that his blood lead levels registered on the diagnostic machine, but where not too concerning.

His right leg is still splinted but is now starting to put weight on that leg.

This juvenile has been in the flight pen for a couple weeks... he was standing without a splint and eating well, so it was time!
