Logistics and timing finally worked and four hatch-year 2021 bald eagles that were all ready for release…. are now flying free..
GoPro and game cameras were placed in the soft release pen. Archery hunted deer carcasses donated as food source were set out as back up food.
Urbandale/DH7, Saylor Township/56th Place, Laurel, and Crusher were moved back to the 60′ flight pen on 15 November 2021.
On 16 November, the soft-release door was opened. Peeking in at about 5:00 p.m., one juvenile had not left. The morning of the 17th, the 60′ flight pen was empty, one juvenile was seen down at the pond on the property!
The next “after dark activity” is to retrieve the cameras and look a the storage cards for what video was captured. Stay tuned.
Thanks to rescuers, transporters, eagle neighbors, and all for the support!
