Borealis

28 October 2015
Borealis Borealis
Snowy Owl

This male snowy owl was admitted as a patient inĀ  January 2012. The injuries he sustained to his shoulder and wing did not heal and Borealis cannot sustain flight to hunt or migrate. Borealis is only available for programming in cold weather, typically late fall through late winter. Borealis is Greek for north or northern. Photo Matt Wetrich.
