Thanks to Dallas County Conservation for rescuing a barred owl along I-80 east of the Desoto Exit. Not sure why this adult is covered with MANY external parasites. Flat flies… yuck.

Flat flies have been picked off and the owl was given ivomec to take care of the bird lice. Fortunately, this owl is eating on its own.
