Ferruginous Hawk – Wow!

Wildlife Lodge & Clinic brought us a not-often seen ferruginous hawk. Unfortunately this female hawk has a badly broken left wing. These hawks are common buteo (genus) in the west. Ferruginous hawks are very common in the Inter-mountain West. Thanks to Tyler for help with the rescue and the selfie.

The fractured wing did not heal for the hawk to be able to fly. We sill start the paperwork and ask that this hawk be transferred to our education permit.
