Thanks to Greene County Conservation for rescuing this Merlin. This falcon collided with something that fractured the radius and ulna in her right wing. SOAR has confirmation from another birder that this Merlin is a female prairie morph.


Updates:

19 February 2019
Her wing tip on the fractured wing had been frozen which caused dead tissue. The wing tip dropped off. She will be evaluated for suitability as an education bird.

22 March 2019
The Merlin kept opening the wound on the wing likely because of nerve damage.
