Linette found this adult male sharp-shinned hawk on the porch of a cabin. He likely died as a result of hitting the window while in pursuit of prey. This cabin has no curtains on the windows so at one point you can look completely through the building to the outdoors beyond. We’ll work with the cabin owner to get some sort of visual barrier up on the windows. If you see dead song birds or raptors below the windows of your home or office, please consider adding something that birds can see and that will help them avoid the window.
