A motorist came upon an injured red-tailed hawk along Iowa 44 in Dallas County and took to a nearby veterinary clinic. Cassie picked up the hawk and reports that there is an old compound fracture in the right wing. Crossing fingers that this bone can be aligned, wrapped, and begin the mending process.

This humerus fracture was not healing, is described as a non-union, and this hawk was humanely euthanized.
