SOAR volunteer Deb responded to this call and followed the landowners across two fields and into some timber to rescue this bald eagle. Deb said, “… caught and loaded up where she went down…not a good sign.” Deb took the eagle to SOAR immediately and even drew blood for the blood lead level. This eagle is lead poisoned. She also has a fracture to the right wingtip. This will heal if she lives through the poison.
Lead poisoning in wildlife is completely preventable. Hunt responsibly. Hunt lead-free.
