Polk Co adult barred owl

This barred owl was rescued with the help of our songbird rehab friend Jenni and her apprentice. They provided overnight care until the owl could be transferred to SOAR. The owl was found laying on the ground on its back. Word is that the owl flew into a window – don’t often hear of owls hitting windows.
The owl is slightly thin, no fractures but bruising around the cere (that fleshy part at the top of the beak) and likely had a headache!
