A gentleman birding at Saylorville Lake on the afternoon of the 9th came upon an eagle on the shoreline, alive but not moving. Word got to SOAR volunteer Deb who hiked in to meet up with the birder.
Deb picked up and carried this eagle out to her vehicle and immediately made plans to get her to Kay as soon as possible.

When Deb arrived with this eagle at SOAR, blood was drawn and her blood lead level is HI, off the charts. Kay thinks this girl is maybe a 5-year-old.
Another one dead from lead. Gee, if only there was some way to prevent this from happening. Ugh.
