We’ll let you know if we still have that available. Then we’ll send you an invoice via our PayPal account and as soon as funds are received, we can ship your order.

You can use PayPal or send us a check. All the details will be included on the invoice! If you plan to be at an event where you can pick up your purchase in person, let us know that, too, and we will pull your items from inventory for you. Please remember that we do not accept credit card payments at events.

Harvey Bernard and Country Art

Harvey was born and raised in the Chatfield, Minnesota area.  He attended a one-room country school and his ambition in life was to become a farmer.  He was also an accomplished boxer.

In 1946, shortly after finishing a Golden Gloves boxing match, Harvey contracted polio.  His next year would be spent at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN with time spent in an iron lung.  Harvey lost the use of his left arm and leg and had partial use of his right arm and hand.  Combining his love of farming and art, Harvey began a family business selling his original artwork and nostalgic farm scenes, called “Country Art.”  You may also see Harvey’s work under the name “Chosen Valley Treasures.”

His artwork is laden with details that depict agriculture from the time of horses to when ‘modern power’ appeared. Harvey passed away in 2009, but his love for remembering life in a simpler time remains with us. Read more about Harvey and his work in his hometown newspaper from 2011.

(If the last name Bernard is familiar to SOAR friends, Harvey is Linette’s husband’s uncle!)
